We Keep What We Have, By Giving It Away...
Please help us carry the message: That no addict seeking recovery need ever die... H&I brings meetings into various hospitals, jails, rehabs, and other institutions where addicts can not get out to meetings. (We do not endorse or affiliate ourselves with any of these institutions).
Clean time requirements: For Most Commitments going into Facilities Chair: Minimum of 1 year clean Co-Chair: Minimum of 6 months clean Panel Member: Minimum of 90 days clean Exceptions: Discovery House and Correctional Facilities are all a Minimum of One Year Clean Also please remember, new policy states that in order to hold one of the positions above, or even to speak at an H&I meeting, you must attend an H&I sponsored workshop/learning day.
H&I has a workshop on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 4pm, at the St. Rose of Lima Church in Freehold. The H&I committee will also present a workshop at your local meeting place or home group. Please contact us via email to arrange this.
Purpose of an Area H&I Sub-Committee: The area Hospitals and Institutions Subcommittee plays a central role in the overall H&I service effort. It initiates, coordinates and conducts all local N.A. hospitals and institutions meetings and activities within the area. This subcommittee is the hub of H&I planning and organization. The area H&I Committee is a subcommittee of the Area Service Committee (ASC). It meets monthly, and its Chairperson reports to and is accountable in all matters to the ASC. The Subcommittee is composed of an H&I chairperson, H&I vice chairperson, H&I secretary, and other elected officers, as well as any other members of the Fellowship who wish to be involved.
Here is what the subcommittee does: 1. Provides a monthly forum to pool experiences, "I can't - we can!" 2. Prepares H&I policies and guidelines for the H&I subcommittee's and for the ASC's approval. 3. Serves as a communication link between local H&I meetings/presentations and H&I subcommittees at the regional and world levels. 4. Selects the members who are to conduct the H&I meetings. 5. Serves as a distribution point for literature for the meetings and reports these transactions to the ASC. 6. Conducts learning days, workshops, and orientations on relevant topics. 7. Is responsible for all H&I oriented services within the area.
